Patrick Trötschler, Germany

Patrick Trötschler is deputy managing director of Lake Constance Foundation, a project-oriented organization for nature conservation. Lake Constance Foundation works towards sustainable economy in the international Lake Constance area and beyond since 1994.

With his team, the certificated agriculturist Patrick Trötschler develops and realizes projects for more biodiversity and climate protection in agriculture. One example is the cooperation with REWE Group and Obst vom Bodensee trading company. 160 fruit farmers contribute to improve conditions for pollinating insects by implementing flowering areas and nesting aids. This project was certified with the PRO PLANET Label in 2010 (www.proplanet-label.com). Another example is the project “AgriClimateChange” (www.agriclimatechange.eu). Together with partners in Spain, France and Italy, Lake Constance Foundation developed a tool for evaluating the energy consumption and GHG-emissions of 120 pilot farms in Europe. Based on the results, Lake Constance Foundation develops actions plans for each farm to reduce consumptions and emissions.
