Danièle Perrot-Maître, France

Danièle Perrot-Maître is a resource and environmental economist focusing on ecosystem services and payments for ecosystem services. Between 2009 and 2011, she joined the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi to coordinate the newly established “Ecosystem Management” Programme.

Prior to joining UNEP, Daniele worked at the World Conservation Union (IUCN), Switzerland as the Chief Technical Advisor for the Caribbean biodiversity conservation programme, and as Programme Officer for the Water and Nature Initiative where she applied the ecosystem approach to the management of freshwater ecosystems.

Other positions held include research positions at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington DC and the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines, and environmental policy work at Winrock International (Dominican Republic), Forest Trends in Washington, DC, and at the World Bank (Haiti, Central America).
