The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) defines the Green Economy "as one that results in improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. In its simplest expression, a green economy can be thought of as one which is low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive." Various activities of UNEP work towards a Green Economy. us on November, 27 – 28, 2012 at the World Conference Center in Bonn! At SusCon 2012 we will present, discuss and develop
practical solutions and cross-sectoral activities towards a Green Economy.
SusCon 2012 – International Conference on Sustainable Business and Consumption – will bring together businesses with relevant stakeholders from government and UN organizations, and NGOs. It will take place in the UN city of Bonn, in Germany on November 27-28, 2012. The conference theme “Green Economy – from intention to action”, will emphasize the importance of business and what, in practice, constitutes a “green economy”. Up to 400 participants are expected.
