Classical Concert “Aqua-phony and Nature Sounds”Monday, November 26, 2012, 20:00
A unique concert has been organised to celebrate the occasion of the 3rd International Sustainability Conference (SusCon) and the 40th anniversary of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). The concert will take place at the impressive “Post Tower” in Bonn, Germany on November 26th 2012.
The musicians of sinfonia di vetro led by Sascha Reckert will create a concert evening around the theme of water and nature sounds. Sascha Reckert has performed as verrophone solist and with sinfonia di vetro worldwide, from the Sydney Opera House to La Scala in Milan and the Salzburg Festival. One of his greatest performances was a gala concert with composer & vocalist Rhett Brewer for HRH Prince Charles at the Royal Albert Hall, when 3,000people were excited to standing ovation. Sascha Reckert also works with video artists and is building glass instruments. We expect a world premiere performance of a new aquaphone instrument at the concert. sinfonia di vetro has invited two friends and world-class musicians to perform at the concert.
Special guest is the very successful composer and vocalist Rhett Brewer from London. Rhett will perform parts from his symphony “In expectation of the thaw”. Olaf Pyras is a composer and lecturer at the University of Kassel and the “Hochschule für Musik” in Detmold. His music projects and performances have been highly praised, and his latest recital, at this years opening of dOKUMENTA 13, where he performed as percussionist attracted worldwide attention.
All musicians are fascinated by the element of water, and it was this fascination that led Sascha Reckert to develop a water filter project, which will feature in the commemorative concert.
The concert will also feature classic music, as well as modern compositions with a focus on verrophones and aquaphones. The performance will be exciting, stimulating and challenging, ranging from dripping water sounds to symphonic dimensions with spontaneous improvisations.
This unique concert is an event not to be missed. Because of the limited venue capacity there are only 300 tickets available. (About 200 have already been sold through advance booking). The remaining tickets are available via IFOAM (www.ifoam.org. ) and for SusCon conference participants (www.suscon.net ) on the basis of “first come, first served”.
